When the puzzle fits

28 August 2017

The German paediatrician Dr. Theresa Harbauer invited Pierre Mertens to Haydom to attend a seminar about Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. Haydom is a small town in the middle of Tanzania, built around a 400-bed hospital. Five years ago, Theresa spent 2 years developing a Spina Bifida team. More than 40 parents turned up for the seminar. Their children are doing surprisingly well. Colleagues from our projects from Moshi, Arusha and ASBATH all contributed to the event. It’s a small project, but it’s nice to see when everybody comes together, and the puzzle fits.
