Low-cost MRI for Africa

28 September 2018

Child-Help’s mission is to improve access to treatment. We lose a lot of children just because parents can not afford to pay for scans. Therefore, Child-Help and IF participated as stakeholders in the kick-off meeting for the innovative low-field MRI project of the Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), the Technical University Delft, the Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC) and Penn State University. This research project aims to deliver low cost, sustainable medical imaging to our projects in Uganda. On the photo dr. Johnes Obungoloch from Mbarara university poses with the prototype of the low-cost MRI.
